HUNTER SWIDZINSKI - STATE CHAMPION!
Butler boys golf was represented at the PIAA two-day championship round at Penn States Blue course Monday and Tuesday. Butler was represented by senior Hunter Swidzinski. Hunter went +2 shooting 73 on the first day and went -8 shooting 64 on the second day to enter a playoff for 1st place in the championship. Hunter clinched the championship with a 20 foot birdie putt on the 3rd playoff hole against WPIAL champion Nick Turwoski from Penn Trafford.
Hunter takes home first place, is the first state champion in Butler high history and one of the lowest rounds in PIAA history. Congrats to state champion Hunter Swidzinski... All that hard work has paid off!

The Butler boys golf team traveled to Cedarbrook golf course for an 18 hole round for the 2023 WPIAL championship. The Butler Golf team finished as runner up for WPIAL championship, led by Hunter Swidzinski with a Butler WPIAL championship record round of 67 (5 under par). Swidzinski was the lowest round out of the section and will continue to compete individually at the PIAA state Championship this year at Penn State's Blue Course. Butler finishes the season 2nd in the 2023 WPIAL.

The Butler boys golf team competed in their first team playoff in 20 years Tuesday at the Links at Spring Church for an 18 holes round and made it to the WPIAL Championship. Butler took 3rd place and qualified for the WPIAL team championship with a team score of 400. Hunter Swidzinski was the medalist overall with a 1 under score of 71. The Golden Tornado will compete for the team championship Thursday at Cedar Brook golf course.

Hunter Swidzinski and Wyatt Kos (both seniors) competed in the 2nd round of the WPIAL individual championships today at Valley Brook Country Club. Wyatt Kos finished Tied for 19th place with a two day +17 score and Hunter Swidzinski took outright third with a two day +2 over par score. Hunter finished 3rd overall and was bronze medalist and qualified to represent Butler in the PIAA individual golf State Championship to be played at Penn State.
