Coach Geibel has completed his 12th season as head coach of the junior high wrestling program.  This season he led the Golden Tornado to a 12 win and 5 loss dual meet record.  Coach Geibel has received the Section 3 Coach of the Year Award five times and was voted WPIAL Jr. High Coach of the Year in 2011.   His teams have had a final PA state team ranking as high as #4 and #6.  He has compiled 145 wins with only 49 losses in his twelve years as the junior high head coach. He has piloted the team to five North Allegheny Tournament Championships, which is considered the Section 3 Tournament.  His teams have won a total of 14 tournaments under his direction.

As a wrestler for the Golden Tornado, Coach Geibel compiled a varsity record of 50 wins and 15 losses in 3 seasons. In his senior season, he compiled a 31-4 record and was a team co-captain.  He was the Section 3 Champion, WPIAL runner-up, and a PIAA State Qualifier his senior year.  What was most impressive was that Coach Geibel only began his wrestling career as a sophomore in high school. He continued his wrestling career in college at Gannon University where he competed at 125 lbs. for 2 years.  He then transferred to Edinboro University and wrestled one year. 

Coach Geibel completed his bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University with a nuclear medicine certificate from CCAC and has been working for Butler Health System for the past 12 years as a nuclear medicine technologist.  Coach Geibel is currently a staff writer for Pennsylvania Wrestling Newsletter and recently covered Pennsylvania wrestlers at the NCAA Division 1 National Championships for the magazine.  He resides in Butler with his dogs Midge and Ike.
